The California Travel Association recognized Beautify Earth with its prestigious Cultural Tourism Champion award at the association’s annual conference in Newport Beach on June 29th 2017. The Cultural Tourism Award highlights the significant impact on California Tourism through either the Performance Arts or Visual Arts.
This award has been but one recognition of the impact the painted city walls and fixtures were having on interest in the city. Tourists see murals as an attraction, which added invaluable, viral social media marketing for the City.
“Beautify Earth is such a wonderful representation of the creative spirit and innovative thinking that is alive and well in Santa Monica”, said Misti Kerns, President/CEO of Santa Monica Travel & Tourism, who nominated Beautify Earth for the award. “Their work throughout our community has helped establish the distinct character of each of Santa Monica’s eight diverse neighborhoods.”
Beautify Earth has beautified Santa Monica’s bleakest blank walls with startling creativity that delights the eye, warms the heart and captures the imagination. They are making this a better world one gorgeous mural at a time.
